Welcome to the Atlanta Pride Festival: Celebrating Diversity and Equality

Atlanta Pride, formerly known as the Atlanta Gay Pride Festival, stands as a cornerstone of our vibrant city, uniting the community in a week-long celebration of love, diversity, and acceptance. Since our inception in 1971, we have grown into one of the oldest and largest pride festivals in the nation, drawing around 300,000 attendees annually.

We trace our origins back to the brave protests that followed the iconic Stonewall Inn raid in 1969, a crucial moment in the battle for equal rights. In tribute to those who blazed the trail for our present freedoms, we hold our celebrations in October, aligning with National Coming Out Day, to honor their spirit and courage.

We take pride in not only being a platform for advocacy but also a significant contributor to our city's economy, with economic impact exceeding $25 million per year. In 2016, we were honored to be recognized by Pride.com as one of the nation's top LGBTQIA+ pride events.

Our festival, accompanied by various events throughout the year, is a testament to our commitment to fostering a culture of inclusivity and support. Each year, we appoint esteemed individuals as Grand Marshals, reflecting the diverse and influential voices within our community. Notable figures such as Stacey Abrams and Feroza Syed have graced our event, advocating for unity and equality.

In alignment with our celebration, the Out on Film gay film festival provides a platform to showcase stories and experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community. This year, our 2023 entertainment lineup included electrifying performances by Iconapop, Saucy Santana and various other artists, adding to the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of our festival.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the spirit of pride, and progress at the Atlanta Pride Festival. Together, let us continue to build a community where everyone can live authentically and with dignity.
