Bobby Blue Bland and the Music Industry

Music has been a prominent part of our culture and our lives for a very long time. It has been a huge part of society and people's mental health. Music has also played its role in history with many movements that have taken place within history and various time era's. Music has assisted in  evolutional changes within this world that you reside in. Many of these song's has gotten people through riot's marches and even protest. They have gotten some people's family through slavery and Jim Crow eras in history. Music has always played a huge role in the life of those who reside on this planet. Not acknowledging this would be a crime against humanity. Whether you listen to music with words or just the sound of instruments music will always be significant to everyone on this planet. Through sound you can change your moods and thoughts of what is taking place around you. What about those who are deaf you may ask, times have changed for them where they are able to hear.





Bobby "Blue" Bland, lets dive into the history of who he was and what his music meant to the people that listened to it. Born Robert Calvin Bland January 27, 1930 in Rosemark, Tennessee. Bobby was a rhythm and blues singer. His career lasted 15+ years from 1951 to 1985.  He was inducted in the blues hall of fame in 1981 and the rock hall of fame in 1992, later he was inducted in the Memphis hall of fame in 2012. That means that he was a very valuable entity within the music industry. Like most in the industry it took him some time before he got his big brake. 




If you listen to hip hop now you have definitely heard his music especially with popular artist such as Jay-Z, Drake, Rihanna, and Dmx. The title of some of these songs are Ain't no love in the heart of the city, I'll take care of you, Ain't no sunshine when she's gone, little boy blue, and Yolanda. 



How many artist within the industry has payed homage to the artist that their songs come from? How many of these artist have shared that they have sampled these songs from previous artist that came before them in the industry? Giving people there flowers are not just for the current artist within the industry, you have to give flowers to the ones that you have sampled their songs. Using there music have made your career excel and broaden your audience. It has given may appeal and standing power within the music world. To those that have come before you and left their mark they should be acknowledge because they too were entities that battled for their place in that field and for their music to be come a safe space for the people who listened to it. There music was able to open doors for the current artist in the industry today.
