Hurricane Irma, Rebuilding After!

After such a crazy year, it has been catastrophic events happening back to back. First Hurricane Harvey left Texas scrambling to put the pieces back together. Now Hurricane Irma is leaving six states putting their pieces back together. South Carolina, North Carolina, Atlanta, Alabama and Florida. When everything is said and have put the pieces back together it will be a lesson learned on every side. The government will learn to be better prepared for times like these and the citizens will do the same. There is no true way to plan for these events but you can prepare yourself to know that in case this happens again you will be more prepared to take better actions for you and your family.

Everyone in Florida has been on edge for the last five days. There were millions that evacuated and millions who stayed. Hurricane Irma threatened everyone in the area; people left their homes and went to shelter others went to family and friends house and the rest left the state in fear of their safety. The hi ways were packed. The airports were packed; tickets prices even went up to 3,000 to exit Florida for people who were seeking a safe haven. The gas stations ran out of gas, while the lines got longer as Floridians waited for gas to fill their tanks to prepare for the Hurricane that was coming. It wasn't just any hurricane it was hurricane Irma. She remained a category five storm almost the entire time she tore through the West Indies on its way to Florida. The shelves in the Supermarkets went empty as everyone stocked up on things they may need to help them get through the storm. No water was anywhere to be found in stores and people were going crazy within states getting necessities for  Irma.

There were mixed feelings among people because of the weather they were experiencing and what the news were telling them. Florida has experienced many hurricanes before, What makes Irma different? Many really did not want to leave but they had to go.Waiting on Hurricane Irma to see what the after math would be. No one was a hundred precent sure of what to expect but, all they knew was fight or flee and no matter your decision if you did not leave the state completely you were in harms way.

Key West and Miami Beach were more at risk than everyone else. Due to the fact that Miami Beach area is mainly water they called for immediate evacuation. Business were mandated to close because they sort was said to cause severe damage. No one really knew what to believe, with the news reporters telling you that it is going to be a category five storm that is going to hit the state and that your life may be in danger, everyone was in panic and no one really was sure how much to believe of what they were hearing. Florida is a tropical climate which is hot majority of the year. There are a few cool days but not many cold ones. Which puts Florida close to the other tropical Islands such as Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Barbuda and the French West Indies so they are automatically part of the hurricane zone. Also because it is located next to the Atlantic Ocean where majority hurricanes start.

With many that did not evacuate, the state of Florida were sending out officers into the areas that were most designated to be a disaster zone, to tell the residence that they needed to evacuate. This was the best that they could do, they could not physically go in and draw these people out. So they sent officers out in their cruisers and they got on their loud speakers and reminded the residence in Key West and Miami Beach that they needed to evacuate, if they needed help first responders would not be able to help them. They were not going to put their lives in danger for those who did not feel that evacuation was necessary. This made things hard for Floridians because they did not believe the storm would be as bad even though the news stressed it.

Many areas were flooded, Miami Beach, Key West, Downtown Miami, Hollywood, Kendall, and North Miami got flooded. Orlando, Jacksonville and Tampa also got flooded. Other states were affected by this storm such as Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina. While everyone is getting back to life and trying to get back into the swing of things. Hurricane Maria is on her way to make her mark and leave her stamp on history.
