By Invitation Only
BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY – July 13, 2017 –  The Bridge is proud to announce the first edition of a new, invitation-only open-air art exhibition to coincide with the second year of its eponymous rare and vintage car show this September.

Six renowned galleries will contribute to the exhibition of top contemporary art, to take place at the exclusive golf club on the site of the historic Bridgehampton Race Circuit. The invite-only car show will take place September 16, and the art exhibition will continue through the weekend, on both September 16 and 17.
The new, expanded art component is organized by Suzanne Butler, Max Levai, Pascal Spengemann and artist Lars FiskThe participating galleries are CANADA, David Zwirner Gallery, David Kordansky Gallery, Karma, Marlborough Contemporary, and Mitchell-Innes & Nash.
“We’re very proud to build upon the success of our first year and have cultivated an experience that will suit a multitude of tastes and interests,” said Robert Rubin, co-founder of the event and owner of The Bridge. “The work featured by these galleries, paired with a beautiful assemblage of vintage automobiles, will create a truly one-of-a-kind aesthetic experience. Adding art to the cars will create a unique mix with great crossover appeal.”
The galleries will occupy six specially designed double-wide shipping containers, each measuring approximately 320 square feet, designed by Lars Fisk. They will be erected by the course’s 18th hole, engaging the surrounding landscape with the addition of outdoor sculpture, performance art, and music. Fisk, a “cunning sculptor” (New York Times), has long embraced small, modular spaces, creating a dynamic, vibrant setting for guests to explore.
The Bridge has a well-established relationship with contemporary art. The clubhouse features work by Ed Ruscha, Andy Warhol, Eric Fischl, Steven Parrino and Richard Prince.
About The Bridge
The Bridge is a new, site-specific contemporary art exhibition and classic auto show held at one of the most unique and beautiful locations on Long Island. Taking place in the relaxed post-season, the event occupies acres of the eponymous golf club, which is situated on the highest topographical point in the Hamptons.  Six leading contemporary galleries will present artwork within artist-designed doublewide shipping containers, and install outdoor sculptures around the grounds. The galleries will be arrayed in a porous circle around a central common area that will encourage a leisurely flow of visitors in and out of the exhibition spaces. Directly adjacent, on the world class golf course, will be an exhibition of classic post-war sports and competition cars.
The Bridge art exhibition is a collaboration between Robert Rubin, who founded The Bridge golf club in 2002; Max Levai and Pascal Spengemann of Marlborough Contemporary; Suzanne Butler of CANADA; and Lars Fisk. The classic car show is organized in collaboration with Jeffrey Einhorn, a Manhattan-based attorney, and Shamin Abas, President of Shamin Abas Public Relations & Special Events.
Partners of the event include Richard Mille, Bell Helicopter, NetJets, Uovo, McLaren, Karma Automotive, Burgess, and Nicholas Brawer.
