Kentucky Clerk In same-sex Denial of Marriage Certificate, was Released from Jail!
Court county clerk Kim Davis of Kentucky has been released from jail today. She was held in contempt of the court because she refused to issue marriage licenses to the same sex marriage couples that got married in the county. Kim had three choices: go back to work and issue the licenses, step down from her job and let someone else take over or go to jail until she can comply with the law. Kim decided to go to jail. After six days she was released from jail. Former Governor of Arkansa Mike Huckabee went down to the jail center where she was held. She was released shortly after his visit to the prison. No statements was released from Kim; yet her lawyer has stated that a statement will re released by her later this week. Governor Huckabee Believes and stands by his words that Kim should not be in jail because of her religious belief, he also believes co-signs with Kim lawyer that she should not have been in jail because of her beliefs. He stands by Kim in her belief as a christian woman, who is following her conscience.
During the time Kim was held in jail the marriage license were given out with Kim Davis name attached to it. Kim and her lawyer has petitioned for her name to be removed from the license but no action has been taken to do so. The Governor also has stated and kept stating that he will go to jail in place of Kim Davis just to prove that he means what he says and to show you should not be condemned because of those beliefs. The presidential candidate also stated that these are some of the matters he will fight for if and when he wins the presidency. A rally is being held for Kim as she is released from jail. Kim got on the stage crying and telling her supporters that she "I love them so much, that they are strong and they serve the living. She also stated they should keep on pressing and believing. "
The judge and many lawyers has said that when you sign up for a government job your personal belief should not stop you from doing your job. There are laws that are put into place for you to follow. When you become a civil worker your personal beliefs has no place when serving the people. The judge has stated as part of her release "she cannot go back and interface directly or in directly with the marriage license for the same sex couples."
The question and the worries that is plaguing everyone is will she follow the law and give these marriage license as the law stated?
