The Confederate Flag In South Carolina Is Lowered!
After the heartache that took place in South Carolina, when one of the most prominent churches in the community was attacked, by a young man with more hate in his heart than many black people that has endured slavery. The black community was hurt, they wanted justice. After all the fighting and struggling they are finally getting some sort of room to breath.
South Carolina taking down the confederate flag - a signal of good will and healing, and a meaningful step towards a better future.
It may only be the beginning in a war that we have been fighting for centuries but we may have a million more beginnings. When you have grown up in a community that is filled with love, and everyone around is thought to love; as hard as it may seem love may be the only thing you know. With that being said there were a lot of things that took place through out this Massacre that has either brought questions to us or has had us question a lot of what we saw. This church that lost 9 lives can continue to live on for centuries to come, to show other generations that we have been through our fair share but we still
stand tall.
There were things mentioned about a supremacy giving money to one of the congressmen in South Carolina and that money was given to the church. What has the church done with that money that they received?
As this young man is going through the motions of having today for his actions. The families of the church seem more forgiving than the community itself. The fight since then has also went to the confederate flag. Many have their opinions on that and many will continue to, but the flag has done more harm than good. The people of South Carolina has suffered enough and they need to heal. This Battle Flag was created because majority of these men that fought in the civil war believed that segregation should still continue. While this isn't the original design of the flag it is still used by white supremacy to show that, they too still believe that this country should be segregated and blacks should still be enslaved and ruled by the caucasians.
With so much on the line and South Carolina standing to lose so much because of the commotion this flag has cost, they have decided to lower the flag. The governor also had her peace that she had to say about the flag being taken down. Quote "10 years ago she never thought she would say this but today is a great day in South Carolina."
A man dressed as a Confederate soldier arrives and salutes the flag. 4.5 hours until takedown.
