President Obama and Assault Within The Military!

Research shows that there were nearly 6,000 reported cases of sexual assault within the military for this year. That is precisely an 8% jump from the reports of last year. This information was announced by the Pentagon on Wednesday of last week.

Considering the percentage of the previous year Military Officials think this is good news. 1 in 10 people reported any assaults are alleged rape two years ago, while this year 1 in 4 came forward with reports. The fact that more service members were able to come and report these incidents they feel as if the members are more trustworthy to the system.

My question is, Are they more trusting to the system or are they just tired of keeping it to themselves and they want to know that the system isn't going to let them down if they do report it?

"Chuck Hagel: feels everyone actions will affect not only them, but also the ones around them. Actions can tear units, relationships and lives apart. Everyone needs to step up and take action when it hurts people and their values."

The report which the President received on Tuesday of last week gives the information on the research that was done. Now it is up to him  to decide on whether the military has taken affirmative actions against this issue and proceed from there. Last year he gave the military officials until January 1st to come up with a solution that would diminish or eliminate the issue. If he got a result that he did not like he would do what he needed to.

Other members of congress wants the president to consider other reforms to take the control out of the military officials and put it within the Military lawyer's hands. This has been an ongoing issue within the military. Kristen Gilbert fell short on her votes to do a reformation. She needed 6 more votes to average in with 60 to get her request approved for other assistance or than the Military Officials.
