What Ebola Could Cost Africa?
With the Ebola virus spreading through Africa can it affect the country in a serious financial way? The world bank has said that with this epidemic and the rate that it is spreading it continues to other countries in Africa it can become a financial burden. With countries such as Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone affected it will be more costly if reached into West Africa.
The World Bank is stating that by next year the Ebola virus could cost Africa 32.6 million if it is not contained now. The CDC stated last month that if the virus is not contained now it can affect up to 1.4 million people in Sierra Leone and Liberia by January of next year. This disease is already costing many their lives. With the fact that so many are already at risk the people and congressional party of Africa should not hesitate to do what is necessary to bring in more beds, doctors and take what ever precautionary procedures that are necessary to contain this disease says the president of The world Bank Jim Yong Kim. He also stated that this could have been avoided if they invested more in their health care systems.
