Louis Vuttion Store in Paris Sued by Employee After Racist Allegations a Manager made.
One of the world's largest Brands is being sued by a sales associate Oliver Koffi. The associate is clamming that he was offend while on the clock, due to the racial slur that came out of the mouth of his manager on shift. This event took place in their luxury brand store in London Selfridge.
Reports state that he is suing the owner Louis Vuitton for racial discrimination and harassment. The associate claims that he witnessed his boss make several racially insensitive comment including Black people ar slaves and eat diet off of the floor. Koffi stated he became uncomfortable and that the comment made the environment uneasy and uncomfortable for him. Within the suit there are allegations of events that took place last year between the boss and Koffi also other employees. The lawsuit will not be effective until July 18th.
When they confronted the manager about the issue he immediately apologized and claimed it was a "joke". Joke or not somethings are better left un-said especially in a professional environment. The manager was relieved of his duties and position. Yet the war did not seem to end there. Louis still has to deal with the suit.
They acknowledge that the comment was made but they still have to defend their company and name. The brand claim that all actions were taken accordingly and claims that racism is not allowed inside of their company; they take all precautionary steps to eliminate this from happening within their company. A spokesperson for the brand also claims the company has a zero tolerance policy for harassment of any sort.
Louis vuitton Has now joined the list of high end company that is vein sued for racial discrimination. Amongst him is Macys, Tiffany and co, Barney's and Alexander McQueen
