Death of Maya Angelou

I could write her back story but it was already told.  Born April 4, 1928 - May 28, 2014 The Impact that you have made with your poems and books will change lives forever. Many knew why the caged bird sing and why they were Phenomenal women Phenomenally but for those who do not it is time to learn history and heritage. Maya Angelou could have bridged that gap if you were taught right growing up. Never give up on the woman you can become. Growth is inevitable the direction you decide to take it is up to you. To a woman that has done wonders in her days of growing up and many others we want to thank you. Your more famous now dead than when you were alive but you will not be forgotten.

Statement from President Clinton on the Death of Maya Angelou
With Maya Angelou's passing, America has lost a national treasure; and Hilary and I, a beloved friend. The poems and stories she wrote and read to us in her commanding voice were gifts of wisdom and wit, courage and grace. I will always be grateful for her electrifying reading of "On the Pulse of Morning " at my first inaugural, and even more for all the years of friendship that followed. Now she sings the songs the creator gave her when the river "and the tree and the stone were one." Our deepest sympathies are with Guy and his Family.
